Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management is an essential part of the future business strategy for Johnson & Johnson. It is critical for our growth plans within the Surgery organization. With this approach to our non-clinical customers, we can demonstrate the long-term value of partnership and our impact on patient care.

As the Strategic Account Manager, you will:

  • Report to the Lead of Strategic Account Management for Surgery, developing mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with both clinical and non-clinical partners across designated key accounts.
  • In collaboration with Business Units, develop and lead account strategies to drive profitable sales and market share growth within hospitals, hospital groups, and group purchasing organizations.
  • Coordinate and support the proposal development process with the clinical team, presenting opportunities and risks, along with their implications, to management.
  • Lead negotiations for commercial agreements as a key driver of our Value-Based Healthcare Strategy, coordinating execution across care centers in collaboration with relevant Business Units and Shared Functions.
  • Act as the representative of Johnson & Johnson Surgery for commercial partners within strategic accounts.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field is an advantage.
  • Several years of clinical experience in a Sales Manager or Key Account Manager role, with proven experience in managing non-clinical partnerships.
  • A deep understanding of the healthcare market and the local regulatory/policy environment; adept at identifying short-term and long-term factors impacting the business.
  • Experience in contract negotiations and deal structuring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German, with strong English proficiency; proficiency in a second official language is preferred.
  • French language skills in writing and speaking are a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills, high self-confidence, courage, and conviction.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with solid business acumen.
  • Project management capabilities, leading complex initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team spirit and a collaborative mindset.
