Job Purpose

Aiglon College, an international boarding school set in the Swiss Alps, is renowned for providing a challenging and transformative holistic education in a caring and supportive environment. Our school is CIS accredited and serves 480 students aged 7-18 from 70 different nations. We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a senior school student with a neurodiverse learning profile, assisting the student in accessing the curriculum, supporting organizational skills, promoting independence, and enhancing social-emotional wellbeing.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to enable the student to fully engage in learning activities.
  • Establish a positive and respectful working relationship with the student.
  • Assist the student in developing organizational, planning, and executive functioning skills.
  • Help the student understand instructions, break down tasks, and maintain focus during lessons.
  • Promote the student's social and emotional development by helping them manage stress and interpersonal situations.
  • Support the student's transition between lessons and learning environments.
  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate scaffolding and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the Learning Support team to implement agreed strategies.
  • Provide feedback on the student's engagement and progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality while facilitating effective communication between all stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Uphold all school policies and safeguarding measures.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Support the application of information and communication technology in the classroom.
  • Attend staff meetings and parent/open evenings as necessary.
