Job Purpose

Aiglon College is an international boarding school in the Swiss Alps known for providing a challenging and transformational holistic education within a supportive framework. The school is accredited by CIS and serves 480 students aged 7 to 18 from 70 different nations. In the final years, students prepare for Cambridge IGCSEs and the IB Diploma Programme, with a distinct learning philosophy that starts with our youngest learners. The junior school is integrated into the whole school while maintaining a focus on Year 2-8 students.

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for the junior school, focusing primarily on students in Years 7 and 8. Experience in an international school context is preferred, and the role is expected to involve support for approximately 20-30 hours per week during term time.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in the development and education of students.
  • Assist in the learning activities and promote social and emotional development.
  • Provide individual or group support, especially for those with EAL considerations.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans and support children with specific needs.
  • Maintain relationships with pupils and contribute to their well-being.
  • Observe and report on pupil performance, assist in planning and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Support the use of technology in the classroom and ensure safety and security.
  • Engage in professional development and adhere to school policies.

Other Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement all school policies, especially those related to safeguarding children.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Deputy Head of the Junior School.
  • Upkeep the ethos and guiding principles of the School at all times.
