Job Purpose

Aiglon College, renowned for its holistic education, seeks a Learning Support Assistant to work primarily with junior school students in Years 7 and 8. Candidates with experience in an international school context will be particularly valued. The role will involve approximately 20-30 hours of support each week and is term-time only.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in pupils' educational development, providing specialist skills as required.
  • Assist both individual and group learning, particularly for students with EAL considerations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with students.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans as appropriate.
  • Facilitate students' social and emotional growth.
  • Promote the health and well-being of students.
  • Support bilingual/multilingual pupils as necessary.
  • Assist children with specific needs, such as sensory or cognitive challenges.
  • Support students' literacy and numeracy skills to enhance their curriculum access.
  • Handle basic personal care needs as guided by school policies.
  • Observe and report on pupil performance to assist in evaluations and planning.
  • Help maintain a conducive learning environment and manage student behavior.

Support for the Curriculum

  • Encourage the use of information and communication technology in the classroom.
  • Ensure all tasks adhere to Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain high standards of performance management.
  • Attend staff meetings and parents’ evenings as required.
  • Perform any other duties necessary for the smooth operation of Aiglon College.
