As Vice Principal, you will play a pivotal role in leading the day-to-day operations of the school while directing its strategic vision for the future. Collaboration with the Principal and senior leadership team will be essential to ensure seamless alignment across academics, boarding, and pastoral care—creating an environment where every student feels challenged, supported, and valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the daily operations of the school, ensuring a well-organised, safe, and positive environment that supports student learning and wellbeing.
  • Provide visible and effective leadership, modelling professionalism, integrity, and the school’s values in all areas of school life.
  • Work closely with the Directors of Studies and Boarding to ensure cohesion, excellence, and consistency across academic and residential programmes.
  • Oversee teaching and learning standards, promoting high expectations, innovative pedagogy, and consistent quality across departments.
  • Support the professional growth of staff through mentoring, performance development, and cultivating a collaborative culture.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school, working alongside the Principal and Executive Leadership Team to implement long-term vision and improvement plans.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between academic, boarding, and pastoral teams, promoting a holistic approach to student development.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
  • Lead on behavior and student conduct, fostering a respectful and inclusive community.
  • Oversee quality assurance and compliance processes, ensuring excellence in standards and documentation.
  • Contribute to school community life, supporting key events and traditions that enhance engagement and belonging.
  • Represent the school with parents and external partners, fostering trust, transparency, and a shared commitment to student success.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with extensive experience in international secondary education.
  • Honours Degree; a master’s degree in education or educational leadership is preferred.
  • Certification or extensive experience with the IB DP programme.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to child protection.

Desirable:

  • Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
  • Experience in a boarding school environment.
  • Previous experience as an IB Coordinator or in a similar leadership role.
  • Familiarity with NEASC accreditation and data-informed school improvement.
  • Proficiency with digital tools for teaching, learning, and management.
  • Working knowledge of French (an asset).
