Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Engage actively in the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues in our Creative Arts & Design Department.
- Contribute to the vibrant boarding life of the school.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and the enhancement of teaching practices.
- Mentor a small group of learners, supporting their academic progress and well-being.
- Manage departmental resources effectively, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized workspace at all times.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding the welfare of all students.
- Handle subject-related administrative tasks and participate in departmental meetings as necessary.
- Follow the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings when required.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
- A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A genuine passion for the subject that inspires others.
- An openness to embracing innovations in teaching and learning, with a willingness to experiment with new methodologies.
- An ability to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as a mother tongue.
