Main Duties
- Teach across the age and ability range, adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of each student.
- Contribute to the wider school life by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities (ECAs), and other enrichment opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively as part of our Science & Mathematics Departments.
- Engage actively in the boarding life of the school.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and enhance your teaching practice.
- Mentor a small group of learners, overseeing their achievements and well-being.
- Manage resources within the department, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment at all times.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding all young people.
- Complete subject-related administration as required and participate in departmental meetings.
- Follow the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as needed.
Person Specification
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly-related subject.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
- A passion for your subject with the ability to inspire others.
- A willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, including experimenting with new practices.
- Capability to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native proficiency).
- An alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including a holistic approach to education, and enthusiasm to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral life.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
