The Wyss Zurich Translational Center is an innovative startup accelerator operated in collaboration with the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich). Our mission is to stimulate translational research aimed at developing treatment protocols, clinical therapies, and pioneering technologies within the dynamic fields of Regenerative Medicine, Robotics, and hybrid technologies. Your Role
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for translating Wyss Zurich’s groundbreaking scientific work into engaging, accurate, and impactful messages that promote innovation adoption, stakeholder engagement, and successful translational outcomes.
Reporting to: Wyss Zurich Managing Director
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand
- Develop and execute an integrated, science-driven marketing and communication strategy.
- Create scientific content from Wyss Zurich projects and platforms for various channels, ensuring scientific accuracy and accessibility for diverse audiences.
- Manage and cultivate Wyss Zurich’s digital presence, including website, email, and social media, through planning, publishing, and monitoring of campaigns.
- Coordinate content creation such as scientific materials, videos, founder spotlights, program announcements, and newsletters to support marketing strategy.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all platforms.
Communications & Ecosystem Advocacy
- Serve as a primary contact for external communications with entrepreneurship programs at ETH/UZH, investors, media, and ecosystem partners.
- Represent Wyss Zurich at events to strengthen community relationships and presence.
- Champion the Wyss Zurich mission, values, and the broader startup ecosystem.
- Assist with press releases, media outreach, and ecosystem communications as necessary.
- Support communication initiatives that highlight scientific progress and enhance organizational alignment.
Event Development & Support
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing various Wyss Zurich events, including workshops, networking events, and community gatherings.
- Support event logistics, including managing timelines, speakers, registrations, and on-site support.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create professional and engaging events that reflect our mission.
Program & Team Support
- Work closely with project leaders and technology platforms to understand their needs and translate them into effective communication and marketing activities.
- Monitor marketing and event performance metrics, offering insights for continual improvement.
- Assist with ad hoc projects that promote Wyss Zurich’s growth and impact.
Requirements
- Degree in marketing, communication, life sciences, or a related field.
- Several years of relevant experience in science communication, marketing, or ecosystem building, particularly in the realms of academia, startups, life sciences, MedTech, or deep-tech.
- Proven talent for transforming complex scientific and technical content into engaging narratives for varied audiences.
- Strong digital communication skills; familiarity with web, newsletters, social media, and content management systems is an asset.
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in German is highly desirable.
- Confident communicator, skilled at professional interactions with a diverse group of stakeholders, including founders, professors, clinicians, and investors.
- Proactive and structured personality with a passion for working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and a strong desire to make an impact.
