Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) for our data centers in the Zurich area. This role will lead physical security operations across multiple sites, reporting directly to the Cluster Security Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Responding to security situations as they arise, based on the direction of the Cluster or Regional Security Manager.
- Supporting the on-site contractor security team as the primary security contact during the shift, providing guidance based on existing Physical Security Standards and local SOPs.
- Reporting all unusual events to the Cluster Manager in a timely manner.
- Providing guidance and direction to contract security officers to maximize the effectiveness of the Security department.
- Overseeing access control systems and badge deliveries.
- Investigating security events via the alarm and CCTV monitoring systems.
- Cooperating and coordinating with the Security Operation Center during security incidents or other security-related matters.
- Creating and continuously improving procedures, processes, and workflows using data and metrics to identify issues and areas for improvement.
- Developing specific knowledge of various operational process paths within the Data Center to identify security vulnerabilities.
- Performing various security inspections, audits, and investigations as required and instructed.
- Traveling to other geographic regions as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in a similar role within the public or private security industry, with a demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to improve processes and customer satisfaction.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to integrate into an international work environment.
- Flexibility and availability to be on-call for out-of-business-hours emergencies, both remotely and on-site.
- Willingness and ability to travel on company business to Data Centers within the Cluster and abroad.
- A valid driving license eligible for use in Switzerland.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the public or private security industry.
- 3+ years of continuous use of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- 3+ years of experience using data and metrics to improve processes and/or customer satisfaction.
- Ability to integrate into an international work environment with a willingness to travel for company business.
- Must be prepared to support out-of-business hours emergencies remotely and on-site.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to work and travel to Data Centers in the Cluster and abroad.
- Current driving license and eligibility to drive in Switzerland.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
- Management experience with vendors.
- Experience in investigation techniques for deep diving on events.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to company tools for data gathering and analysis.
- Metrics-oriented mindset.
- Ability to handle pressure and act swiftly and calmly in times of crisis.
- Ability to manage confidential information with care.
- Ability to integrate into an international work environment with a willingness to travel on company business.
