Tethys Robotics specializes in developing innovative underwater robotic solutions for inspection and investigation operations in challenging environments. We are seeking a passionate sales professional with a business development mindset to join our dynamic team.

Your Role as Sales Support Engineer

As a Sales Support Engineer at Tethys Robotics, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing product demonstrations, pilots, and training sessions at customer sites around the world. You will take ownership of the technical delivery—from site assessments and logistics to safe and effective operations on-site.

Your role will include:

  • Planning, organizing, and executing customer demonstrations and pilots, including equipment preparation, transport logistics, on-site setup, and agenda planning.
  • Conducting site assessments, including risk evaluations and method statements, to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Serving as the technical lead and operator during demonstrations and pilots, presenting and piloting the robotic systems to customers.
  • Performing pilot service jobs while collaborating with R&D for technical innovations.
  • Delivering customer training on our robotic systems internationally.
  • Processing collected data after demos and pilots, preparing detailed reports, and conveying results to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying marketing opportunities in customer interactions, such as photos, case studies, and testimonials.
  • Contributing to the development of standardized demo and pilot processes, documentation, and best practices for scaling field operations.
  • Sharing insights from offshore operations with the sales and engineering teams.
  • Documenting technical issues and providing structured feedback to sales and engineering for product enhancements.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • 5+ years of offshore experience as an EOD/commercial offshore diver or similar roles; a technical background in engineering or related fields is preferred.
  • Extensive market knowledge and hands-on experience with offshore campaigns.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles, such as demos, training, service, or field support.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with confidence in engaging customers.
  • Strong organizational skills, including logistics planning and risk assessments.
  • Comfort operating and troubleshooting technical equipment.
  • A willingness to learn data handling and reporting for professional results.
  • Flexibility for frequent international travel (approximately 2–4 days, twice per month, often on short notice).
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach in fast-paced environments.
  • Fluency in professional English, both written and verbal; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
  • A driver’s license.
  • A passion for working in a dynamic start-up environment under challenging outdoor conditions.

Bonus Points if You Bring

  • Experience in robotics or maritime high-tech, or deep expertise in industrial inspection.
  • Offshore certifications (GWO/BOSIET or equivalent).
  • Resilience against sea-sickness.
  • Comprehensive experience across the full cycle of demos and pilots (planning, execution, operation, and reporting).
