The Vocational School Winterthur is a vibrant place of work and learning with around 3,800 learners and over 200 teachers. To ensure that our learners and staff feel comfortable in our five school buildings and that the school operations run smoothly, we need proactive, thoughtful individuals who can maintain an overview.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed individual as a Custodian with Federal Certificate of Competence as Caretaker starting on February 1, 2027.
As part of our team, you will significantly contribute to ensuring that our buildings and facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained at all times. You will take on various maintenance and preservation tasks across our five school buildings as well as outdoor areas, collaborating with the team to ensure daily operational activities run smoothly.
Your responsibilities include:
You will take pride in sharing your expertise and contributing to the next generation's training. Furthermore, you will assist in operational management within the housekeeping department and be prepared to represent it as necessary. Your role will involve early and late shifts, as well as on-call services including nights, weekends, and holidays.
You possess a vocational training as a specialist in operational maintenance, a trade, or a technical apprenticeship. Ideally, you hold the Federal Certificate of Competence as Caretaker or are willing to obtain it within the next two years. Furthermore, you have training as a vocational trainer and are qualified as a safety representative for fire protection.

You exhibit a reliable, independent, and meticulous working style, and enjoy hands-on work. Your ability to remain composed in hectic situations, coupled with your helpful, communicative, and flexible nature, makes you a valuable team player. You are eager for professional development and willing to engage in continued education as per the school’s requirements. Proficiency in German, both spoken and written, is essential.
