The ideal candidate will possess a clinical interest; a physician-scientist with training in infectious diseases is highly desirable. We are looking for a visionary individual who is eager to engage in experimental work and/or translational science. A strong passion for teaching, combined with the leadership skills necessary to manage a research team, is essential.

Your Profile

We seek excellence in our candidates. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for SNSF Starting Grants, ERC Consolidator Grants, or the Medical Research Position at the Professor Dr. Max Cloëtta Foundation.

We expect candidates to demonstrate research outputs that not only surpass their doctoral contributions but also push the boundaries within their field of study. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas:

  • Biology of viruses
  • Immunopathology caused by viruses
  • Immune responses to viruses
  • Novel treatment strategies to combat viruses
  • Innovative vaccination strategies
  • Data science in virology

We are seeking an ambitious investigator who is prepared to develop an internationally competitive research program that addresses fundamental or translational questions in virology. While research on clinically relevant viral pathogens is especially encouraged, we warmly welcome outstanding candidates working on any aspect of virus biology or virus-host interactions to apply online using the form below.
