Position Overview

Our Turbocharger Core Components department is seeking a highly educated and innovative engineer to join our structural mechanics team. In collaboration with R&D and testing engineers, your responsibilities will include performing structural mechanics calculations for the design of new turbochargers and their components. You will also engage in advanced simulation technologies and processes to support our development teams. If you have expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and a passion for pioneering ideas, we are keen to meet you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Utilize FEA tools to conduct comprehensive numerical analyses focused on mechanical integrity and lifetime prediction, emphasizing thermomechanical fatigue.
  • Perform analysis and numerical evaluation of bolted connections.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain structural mechanics methods to enhance lifetime predictions.
  • Incorporate field data into structural mechanical evaluations.
  • Manage development initiatives that encompass fundamental research.
  • Contribute to development projects related to turbochargers.
  • Support design variations until they are technically ready for production.
  • Collaborate extensively with engineering, design, and testing teams.

Your Background

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in FEA tools (ABAQUS/SIMULIA/3DExperience), especially within turbomachinery.
  • Familiarity with CAD in 3DExperience is advantageous.
  • Strong foundation in structural mechanics and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Experience in thermomechanical fatigue and material modeling.
  • Understanding of thermodynamics and proficiency in scripting or programming is a plus.
  • Responsible and reflective personality.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and persuade on intricate technical matters.
  • Interest in product improvements through simulations.
  • Proficiency in business English and German.
