We are looking to strengthen our Engineering Team with a Process Engineer focusing on Clean Utilities.
Our engineering department comprises a close-knit group of over 30 employees who manage all engineering aspects in-house. We operate like a family, supporting each other while drawing on regional and international expertise. Our team communicates in both German and English, and continuous development is part of our DNA as we strive for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain clean utility systems, ensuring the continuous supply of purified water, clean steam, water for injection (WFI), and process gases.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions on clean utilities equipment.
- Design and optimize clean utility systems to meet regulatory and operational requirements for purity, reliability, and efficiency, leading projects to enhance system performance, including energy efficiency and water usage reductions.
- Act as the Package Owner for clean utility systems in large-scale investment projects, overseeing the planning, procurement, installation, and qualification of clean utilities packages.
- Manage the planning and development of Change Control for Utilities utilizing a Veeva workflow.
- Oversee clean utility system installations from design to commissioning and qualification, ensuring timely project delivery.
- Ensure that all clean utility systems comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards.
- Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting and resolving utility system issues, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal disruption to production.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) for any system deviations.
Your Skills and Qualifications
- Academic education (university or university of applied sciences) in mechanical engineering, process engineering, biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical technology, chemistry, or a comparable field, or extensive professional experience in biopharmaceutical technology.
- Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry under GMP production conditions.
- Knowledge and previous experience of utility design and operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in written and spoken German and English.
- Strong initiative, ability to work under pressure, solid decision-making skills, independence, and a conscientious approach to work.
- Willingness to be available for on-call duties to handle emergencies or system failures outside of normal working hours, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and resolution.
- Excellent communication skills, a team-oriented working style, and a high sense of responsibility.
