Your Mission

Job Description

  • Patent Advisory and Innovation Mining: Advise on patenting and foster sustainable innovation mining across the organization.
  • IP and Inventor Enablement: Guide inventors on IP topics and ensure preparedness for future projects.
  • Technology and Product Landscape Monitoring: Continuously monitor Climeworks’ product innovations and evolving technology landscape.
  • Inventor and Expert Interface: Act as the essential bridge between inventors and innovation protection experts to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Patent Portfolio and Scientific Analysis: Delve into Climeworks’ patent portfolio and relevant scientific literature to provide valuable technical insights.
  • Core Technology Ownership: Own core technology domains focusing on patent filing and ongoing maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Refine Climeworks’ innovation mining and protection approaches to maintain industry leadership.

Your Story

Requirements

  • Scientific and Technical Foundation: A scientific or engineering background with a practical understanding of diverse technical topics and a curious mindset.
  • Patent Qualification and Legal Expertise: A qualified patent attorney (CH, EU, and/or US) with solid knowledge of EU and US patent laws.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience in patent prosecution and active management of patent portfolios.
  • Working Style: Trustworthy and reliable, excelling at driving projects to completion independently with a strategic mindset.
  • Adaptability and Agility: Ability to swiftly adapt to new challenges and shift focus as priorities evolve in a dynamic environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English.

Nice to Have:

  • Patent litigation experience.
  • In-house roles in multinational companies.
  • Robust expertise in engineering, chemistry, or both.
  • Experience in driving cross-functional projects to successful conclusion.
  • Conversational German skills.

Salary: At Climeworks, salary ranges are assigned based on the level of seniority and the local market median of similar jobs. Individual compensation depends on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.

Formalities

This position is based in Opfikon, Zurich, and we require onsite work at least three days per week.

The percentage in the job title indicates flexibility – choose full-time or part-time based on what works for you.
