About the Role
The Medical Communications Manager serves as Takeda’s external-facing scientific communications lead for GI2 (Gastroenterology and Inflammation). This role is responsible for planning and executing medical education and omni-channel scientific communication—spanning traditional, innovative, and digital mediums. By closely partnering with DD&T (Digital, Data & Technology), Field Medical, and Medical Advisors, you will translate evidence into clear, compliant, and impactful narratives that orchestrate customer journeys while leveraging AI-driven analytics and advanced CRM to enhance reach, engagement, and educational outcomes.
Your Contributions
- Scientific Communications Strategy: Own the GI2 medical communications plan, defining audiences, messages, channels, and success metrics while ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency across assets.
- Medical Education (MedEd): Design and deliver accredited and non-accredited MedEd initiatives (e.g., symposia, webinars, masterclasses, microlearning) in collaboration with external experts and internal stakeholders. Evaluate learning outcomes and tailor content to address educational gaps in the GI2 therapeutic area.
- Omni-Channel Orchestration: Design scientific customer journeys and execute omni-channel campaigns (email, web, social, virtual events) utilizing OCE automation and personalizing content based on insights and KOL profiling.
- Content Operations & Review: Adapt and create scientific content (slides, leave-behinds, infographics, videos, FAQs); manage references, scientific narratives, and MLR review in Veeva Vault or equivalent.
- Insights & Analytics: Leverage data analytics and dashboards to measure reach, engagement, and impact; apply A/B testing and continuous optimization.
- Publications Support (Local): Coordinate with Medical Advisors and Global Publications on local publication needs (abstracts, posters, congress booths) in alignment with global/local publication policies.
- Collaboration & Governance: Work cross-functionally with Field Medical, Medical Advisors, DD&T, Market Access, PV, and Legal/Compliance to ensure aligned, timely, and compliant execution.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Select and manage agencies/vendors while tracking budgets, timelines, and quality, ensuring alignment with the Statement of Work (SoW).
- Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all activities adhere to Takeda-ism, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), local codes, and regulatory standards, maintaining fair-balanced and non-promotional scientific communication.
Skills and Qualifications
Critical Skills/Competencies:
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PharmD/PhD/MD or MSc with equivalent experience).
- Native-level proficiency in German or French; excellent English skills; demonstrated ability to write and review scientific content with clarity and rigor.
- 2–4 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Communications, with a preference for Immunology (Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis, or Inflammatory Bowel Disease) experience.
- Strong scientific writing, storytelling, and health literacy skills.
- High level of agility, teamwork skills, and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Proficiency with digital tools: hands-on experience with OCE/campaign automation (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), Veeva Vault (PromoMats/MedComms), and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Planner, Copilot).

Capabilities
- Scientific Digital Communication: Facilitate conversations with external experts to collaboratively develop medical education initiatives using evidence-based content.
- Omni-Channel Design & Execution: Translate strategy into orchestrated customer journeys, optimizing channels and content for enhanced engagement and learning outcomes.
- Stakeholder Influence: Align cross-functional partners and external stakeholders without authority; negotiate trade-offs to protect scientific integrity and timelines.
