Job Opportunity: Lead Forward-Deployed Engineer (Data Applications)

We are seeking a talented Lead Forward-Deployed Engineer (Data Applications) to join our team in the broader Zurich area, Switzerland, in a hybrid working environment. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence AI-driven development practices by designing rapid, intelligent prototypes that enhance delivery efficiency. You will collaborate closely with business and product stakeholders to transform innovative ideas into functional application concepts that can transition seamlessly into production-ready builds.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with client business and product owners to define new application features and create rapid prototypes.
• Utilize AI throughout the development process, including code generation, automated testing, and iterative building.
• Construct, refine, and deliver functional prototypes, focusing on maintaining short feedback loops.
• Prepare validated prototypes for transition into standard build processes with engineering teams.
• Evaluate and confirm the technical feasibility of new application features using AI-native approaches.
• Serve as a primary technical contact for client teams during the early stages of development.
• Contribute AI-native engineering practices and reusable patterns to internal teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience, including 3+ years in rapid prototyping, forward-deployed, or solutions-engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native application development, including code generation and the use of agentic coding assistants.
• Strong proficiency in rapid prototyping using Python.
• Excellent client-facing technical communication skills.
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude or possession of AWS AI Practitioner certification.
• Experience with AWS Data Services.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to Have

• Solid understanding of application and API design for new features.
• Knowledge of Amazon Bedrock or AgentCore.
• Experience with LangChain or other agent-orchestration frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake or ClickHouse.
• Background in prompt engineering.
