Opportunity: Category Manager

We are expanding our team and seeking a passionate Category Manager to help steer our long-term success as our business and global value chain continue to evolve.

Role Overview

The Category Manager within our Strategic Supply Chain will focus on the development, planning, and implementation of our Supply Chain Strategy for the designated category. Your work will be based in Baden, Switzerland, reporting to the Global Category Manager for Components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve defined Supply Management targets, primarily concerning quality, logistics, and total cost for the assigned category.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies focused on optimizing total costs, product quality, and logistics performance.
  • Integrate environmental considerations, such as the CO2 footprint of products and the value chain, into the Supply Chain Strategy.
  • Conduct regular reviews of supply risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures to ensure a resilient supply chain.
  • Carry out supplier evaluation, qualification, development, and manage price and framework agreement negotiations.
  • Define and continually improve the supply chain to reduce lead times and enhance logistic processes.
  • Represent Supply Management in product development projects until serial release and ensure stable supply.
  • Oversee the relocation of parts until first article inspection is approved, transitioning to the buyer organization.
  • Initiate and lead design modification requests in collaboration with the design team.
  • Support the buyer organization in the event of supply escalation.

Your Background

  • Master’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Postgraduate studies or professional experience as a Category Manager or Project Manager in an international context is highly advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach complemented by effective communication skills and a relentless drive for execution.
  • Fluency in both business English and German is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
