Key Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will manage and progress a varied Business Rates caseload that encompasses valuation, appeals, and advisory work with minimal supervision. Your role will involve
- Conducting inspections, measurements, and surveys of commercial properties across various sectors.
- Preparing and submitting Proposals/Appeals and Check/Challenge/Appeal (CCA) cases, including well-reasoned valuation arguments.
- Analyzing rental evidence, cost data, tone lists, and comparable assessments to support valuation strategies.
- Providing support to senior colleagues on complex, high-profile, or portfolio-wide instructions, including large occupier portfolios.
- Attending and contributing to client meetings, offering clear and commercially focused advice.
- Liaising professionally with Assessors, the Valuation Office Agency, and Local Authority Rates Teams.
- Maintaining high standards of file management, compliance, and documentation.
- Contributing to sector research, knowledge sharing, and the continuous development of internal databases.
- Collaborating with colleagues across advisory disciplines to deliver coordinated, client-focused solutions.
- Actively promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications & Experience
The salary offering for this position ranges from £45,000 to £55,000, depending on experience. To be considered, candidates should possess:
- MRICS qualification (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- A demonstrable track record in UK business rates advisory.
- Proven expertise across multiple asset classes.
- Strong experience in handling complex appeals and negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency.
