Associate Director / Associate Directress

Job Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Provide bespoke rating appeal and mitigation advice to a diverse range of clients across various property types.
  • Manage, develop, and grow an existing client portfolio while fostering strong relationships with new and prospective clients.
  • Deliver strategic rating advice to occupiers, developers, and landlords throughout the property lifecycle.
  • Lead and support challenges to rating assessments through the Check, Challenge, Appeal (CCA) process.
  • Advise on empty rates liability, payment strategies, completion notices, and related rating matters.
  • Collaborate across internal service lines (e.g., Agency, Investment, Development) to identify opportunities and promote our Business Rates offering.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and actively support the growth of the wider ratings team.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • MRICS qualified with demonstrable experience in Business Rates / Rating consultancy.
  • Proven track record in providing rating advice and successfully negotiating appeals.
  • In-depth knowledge of rating legislation, regulation, and relevant case law.
  • Competent in undertaking property inspections and general surveying duties.
  • Experience representing clients at Valuation Tribunal level, with exposure to Upper Tribunal preferred.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with rating software.

  • Confident and assertive when required, with a flexible approach to work.

Compensation

Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 depending upon experience

Package: £6,000 - £8,000 for travel/car

Bonus: £10,000 - £20,000+ depending upon performance and experience
