Key Responsibilities

Main Duties:

• Manage and progress a varied Business Rates caseload, encompassing valuation, appeals, and advisory work with minimal supervision.
• Conduct inspections, measurements, and surveys of commercial properties across multiple sectors.
• Prepare and submit Proposals/Appeals and Check/Challenge/Appeal (CCA) cases, including well-reasoned valuation arguments.
• Analyze rental evidence, cost data, tone lists, and comparable assessments to inform valuation strategy.
• Support senior colleagues on complex, high-profile, or portfolio-wide instructions, including large occupier portfolios.
• Attend and actively contribute to client meetings, providing clear and commercially focused advice.
• Liaise professionally with Assessors, the Valuation Office Agency, and Local Authority Rates Teams.
• Maintain high standards of file management, compliance, and documentation.
• Contribute to sector research, knowledge sharing, and the continuous development of internal databases.
• Collaborate with colleagues across advisory disciplines to deliver coordinated, client-focused solutions.
• Actively support and promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Salary offering: £52,000 - £62,000 depending on experience.
• MRICS qualified (or equivalent) with up to 12+ months post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrable track record in UK business rates advisory.
• Proven expertise across multiple asset classes.
• Strong experience in handling complex appeals and negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency.
