Your Responsibilities

As the global leader for Trade Finance Strategy and Governance, you will initially focus on key Asian markets, including China, South Korea, and Japan. Your scope will be expected to expand in accordance with Group priorities and our evolving operating model.

  • Negotiate and manage guarantee agreements, bank acceptance drafts, short-term trade finance facilities, and communication agreements. Serve as the primary bank-facing representative for trade finance.
  • Oversee the administration and reporting of global guarantee limits in trade finance.
  • Contribute to the definition of the global financial institutions’ strategy concerning guarantees and bonds, ensuring that ABB subsidiaries have adequate access to guarantee lines.
  • Provide support to the lead for supply chain finance, accounts receivable finance, Bank Acceptance Draft (BAD), and discounting facility initiatives. Assist with the implementation and management of these programs as necessary.
  • Align local processes with globally harmonized Trade Finance governance and operating standards.
  • Support M&A treasury activities and act as a global escalation point for export and trade finance topics.

Your Experiences

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (both verbal and written) is mandatory, with additional language skills in Japanese or Korean considered an advantage.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in trade finance, with practical knowledge of daily operations or a strong background in treasury or banking, complemented by a solid understanding of and interest in trade finance.
  • A clear strategic vision backed by meticulous execution, with the capacity to navigate complex situations and make pragmatic, risk-aware decisions in high-stakes environments.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, manage outcomes, and implement change across global teams and financial institutions.
  • Experience with SWIFT for Trade Finance and a keen interest in digitalization and automation are beneficial.
