Position Overview

This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will ensure the effective delivery of the Service portfolio in alignment with ABB's standard processes and safety guidelines, ensuring customer satisfaction. Daily, you will:

  • Provide technical support and resolve issues within your area of expertise.
  • Communicate proactively with both customers and ABB service sales and life cycle management teams to understand customer needs and identify business opportunities for service growth.
  • Engage in on-site assignments for up to 40% of the time.

The work model for this role is: #LI-Hybrid.

This position contributes to the Business Line GMD (Gearless Mill Drive) globally, collaborating with customers, internal service sales and life cycle management teams, and various engineering disciplines.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting through remote or on-site services, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and consulting.
  • Investigating customer needs through professional consulting, managing relationships, and maintaining contact with key clients, including acting as a 24/7 support line approximately every two months, depending on availability.
  • Proposing product and quality improvements and effectively communicating these within the ABB organization.
  • Delivering technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers, while being part of a dynamic, international team where you can flourish.

Qualifications for the Role

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an electrical engineer, product specialist, or in a similar technical role, preferably within the power electronics sector.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating seamless collaboration across departments and with clients.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring product conformity, accurate technical documentation, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages like Spanish is a plus.
