Position Overview

This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will ensure the effective delivery of the service portfolio in accordance with ABB’s standard processes and safety guidelines, enhancing customer satisfaction. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Providing technical support and solving problems via remote or on-site service, including installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, back-office engineering, consulting, retrofit engineering, etc.
  • Investigating customer needs through professional consulting and managing customer relationships by maintaining regular contact with key clients.
  • Acting as a 24/7 support line for one complete week, approximately every two months, depending on availability.
  • Proactively suggesting product and quality improvements, and communicating these suggestions within the ABB organization.
  • Providing technical consulting on service solutions to management and customers.

This role will involve on-site assignments up to 40% of your time and contributes globally to the Business Line GMD (Gearless Mill Drive). Main stakeholders include customers, internal service sales and life cycle management teams, and other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications for the Role

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an electrical engineer, product specialist, or in a similar technical role, preferably within the power electronics sector.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach with effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling seamless collaboration across departments and with customers.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring product conformity, accurate technical documentation, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish is a plus.
