Your Role

As a Technical Buyer within our Supply Chain team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and reliable procurement of components that meet Zurich Instruments' stringent quality and precision requirements. Acting as the key interface between Planning, Suppliers, Manufacturing, and R&D, you will translate technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies, cultivate strong supplier relationships, and address technical and logistical challenges to maintain production schedules. Your contributions will be crucial in delivering our high-tech instrumentation to customers worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operational purchasing, including quotation requests, purchase orders, and order confirmations.
  • Monitoring schedule dates and reporting critical delays to prevent material shortages.
  • First point of contact for quotation requests and purchasing for production, R&D, and other departments.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of optimal inventory levels and materials on a regular basis.
  • Contributing to process improvements.
  • Supporting New Product Development (NPD) activities.

Your Profile

  • Completed commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing/business administration, or an engineering degree with relevant procurement experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement within a technical (ideally electronic) industry.
  • Solution-oriented thinking and a hands-on mentality.
  • Technically savvy with an understanding of the high-level technical design, issues, and solutions of our products.
  • Structured working approach, strong negotiation skills, and analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement processes.
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English.
  • Excellent communication skills.
