Position: Senior Supply & Production Planner
As a Senior Supply & Production Planner, you will serve as the crucial link between demand and the availability of materials and capacity. You will translate forecast-driven and order-driven demand into procurement plans, convert confirmed demand into executable production schedules, and anticipate capacity gaps over a rolling six-month horizon. Your role will involve collaboration across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business Fulfillment, R&D, and our suppliers, making you the go-to resource for inquiries about production and shipping timelines.
Your Responsibilities
- Translate the rolling demand forecast for the series production line into a 3–6 month procurement plan with suppliers, maintaining key planning parameters in the ERP.
- Develop a procurement plan for project-based business, identifying long-lead components for preventive purchase prior to order intake and quantifying commitments for approval.
- Execute the MRP cycle, convert requirements into purchase orders, and monitor material readiness by project, escalating delivery risks as needed.
- Issue the weekly production plan, create and manage manufacturing orders, and coordinate internal logistics to ensure timely material picking and staging.
- Maintain accurate planning master data (BOMs, routings, work center capacities) in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D, confirming feasible dates with Business Fulfillment and Sales.
- Evaluate production capacity over a rolling six-month horizon, identify bottlenecks early, and propose solutions such as load leveling, build-ahead, or outsourcing.
- Own planning processes within the ERP system and report key performance indicators including on-time delivery, material shortages, inventory coverage, forecast accuracy, and capacity load.
Your Profile
- Technical or commercial education (HF, FH or BSc) in supply chain, industrial engineering, or a related field; planning certification (e.g., APICS CPIM) is a plus.
- 5-10 years of planning experience in a high-mix/low-volume electronics or precision instrumentation environment.
- Strong ERP planning skills: MRP (Material Requirements Planning), MPS (Master Production Scheduling), and capacity planning; experience with Odoo is advantageous.
- Ability to work simultaneously with both forecast-driven and order-driven project planning logic.
- Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in data management and Excel.
- Adept at making decisions under uncertainty and providing factual justification for decisions.
- Effective communicator across manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and supplier networks.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a significant advantage.
