We are seeking a passionate Teacher of Psychology to join our vibrant community at an esteemed all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the breathtaking Swiss Alps.
Main Duties
- Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment programs.
- Engage with our Boarding Department to foster a supportive environment for all students.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and self-improvement.
- Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their progress and well-being.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
- Handle subject-related administration as necessary and actively participate in departmental meetings.
- Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and attend parents’ meetings as required.
Person Specification
- Hold a good honours degree and/or a further degree in a relevant subject.
- Embrace a commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrate a passion for the subject that inspires students.
- Adapt to developments and innovations in teaching and learning, showing willingness to experiment with new methods.
- Be prepared to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Share in the educational vision of La Garenne International School, contributing to both co-curricular and pastoral aspects.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
- Demonstrate strong ICT competence and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
- Maintain a positive outlook, an optimistic approach to change and development, along with a good sense of humour.
