Job Purpose

Aiglon College is a leading international boarding school located in the Swiss Alps, renowned for offering a challenging and transformative holistic education in a nurturing and inspiring environment. We cater to 480 students aged 7-18 from 70 different nations, guiding them through programs like the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma.

This position is focused on supporting junior school students in Years 7 and 8, ideally requiring candidates with experience in international educational settings. The role entails approximately 20-30 hours of work per week during term time.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in developing and educating pupils, including offering specialist skills as necessary.
  • Provide support for students, both individually and in groups, particularly those with EAL needs.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans as appropriate.
  • Promote students’ social and emotional development.
  • Support children with specific needs and those who are Gifted and Talented.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the learning environment and contribute to the management of pupil behavior.
  • Supervise classes during emergencies and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Foster team development and maintain effective working relationships within the school.
  • Support the curriculum and the use of technology in the classroom.

Other Responsibilities

  • Implement school policies, particularly those regarding safeguarding.
  • Participate in professional development and adhere to performance management principles.
  • Attend relevant staff meetings and community events.
  • Undertake additional tasks as requested by the Deputy Head of the Junior School to facilitate the efficient operation of the team.
