Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Teacher of Business who is passionate about engaging with students at our stunning all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the Swiss Alps.

Main Duties

• Teach across the age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the needs of individual students.
• Contribute to the broader school community by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities.
• Collaborate with our Boarding Department.
• Pursue professional development to enhance your teaching practice.
• Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their progress and well-being.
• Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding all young people.
• Handle subject-related administrative tasks and participate in departmental meetings.
• Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes, attending parents’ meetings as necessary.

Person Specification

• A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
• A strong commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• A genuine passion for your subject, with the ability to inspire enthusiasm in others.
• A willingness to embrace developments and innovations in teaching and learning, experimenting with new practices.
• Capability to act as a supervisor for students completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a native proficiency.
• Alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, particularly our holistic educational approach, and eagerness to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral life.
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating with colleagues and school leadership.
• A high level of ICT competence and a willingness to adopt new technologies.
