The Business Unit Robotics develops, produces, and distributes pipetting robots that automate liquid handling processes for a diverse range of customers, from the pharmaceutical and food industries to cell and DNA research.

How You Can Make a Difference:

  • You will support the synthesis and system verification/validation, considering the complete problem from Market, Operations, Performance, Manufacturing, Test, Disposal, Training & Support perspectives.
  • The System Engineer will address both the business and technical needs of all customers as conveyed by the Product Management organization, aiming to provide a quality set of system architecture alternatives.
  • You will ensure that all development practices comply with Hamilton's best practice policies and procedures, actively contributing to defining those policies.
  • With your extensive multidisciplinary knowledge, you will support the development and improvement of process-driven systems as required by Hamilton's products.
  • You will create and document functional processes for installation, Run-In, and Final QC Macros prior to implementation.
  • You will collaborate with Product Management and Senior Engineering Management to define product maintenance projects, roadmaps, technologies, budgets, and more.
  • You will transfer and implement technologies, methodologies, and workflows as defined in common agreement with the Head of R&T.
  • You will develop and utilize product knowledge to innovate and respond to customers' critical needs effectively.
  • You will align different disciplines and their interfaces, including Hardware, Electronics, Embedded Software, and Software Development.
  • You will ensure that the system aligns with Hamilton's product strategy.

What You Bring Along:

Must-Have:

  • Master's degree in Software, Mechatronics, Physics or related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience leading large design efforts and coordinating cross-functional teams of four or more members.
  • Proven experience in System-Model Design.
  • Proven experience in simulation setup and results interpretation.
  • Expertise in at least one System-Modeling environment (Matlab/Simulink, Octave, Scilab, etc.).
  • Experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to speak German (minimum B2 level).

Nice to Have:

  • Background (or knowledge) in the Design Control Process.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages is an advantage.
  • Expertise in at least one requirement-management tool (Doors, Polarion, etc.) - familiarity with Polarion is an advantage.
  • Experience with testing and data analytics, especially statistical approaches to data analytics.
  • Knowledge of robotics is an additional plus.
  • Background in Physics or Fluid Dynamics is an advantage.
