System Architect Optics

Your Main Tasks:

• Define and architect optical consumer products, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Translate product requirements and consumer needs into comprehensive system specifications.
• Lead system-level integration activities by balancing optical, mechanical, electronic, and software requirements.
• Develop the technical definition, architecture, and roadmap for advanced optical systems in consumer products (e.g., multifunctional observation devices).
• Specify and validate system interfaces across multidisciplinary teams (optical, mechanical, electronic, firmware/software).
• Serve as a technical reference for internal and external stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle and serialization.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to drive product industrialization and implement quality assurance.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in optical science, materials, and technologies.

Your Profile:

• Master’s Degree in Physics, Optics, or a related field (ETH or equivalent, University of Applied Sciences).
• At least 3 years of proven experience in optical product development and system-level architecture, especially in consumer environments; knowledge of binoculars and laser range finders is a plus.
• Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across various project phases.
• Strong team spirit along with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in development methods.
• Fluency in both German and English.
