System Architect Optics

Your Main Tasks:

  • Define system architecture for optical consumer products, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Translate product requirements and consumer needs into comprehensive system specifications.
  • Lead system-level integration activities, balancing optical, mechanical, electronic, and software requirements.
  • Define technical specifications, architecture, and roadmap for advanced optical systems in consumer products (multifunctional observation devices).
  • Specify and validate system interfaces across multidisciplinary teams (optical, mechanical, electronic, firmware/software).
  • Act as a technical reference for internal and external stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to drive product industrialization and quality assurance.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and innovations in optical science, materials, and technologies.

Your Profile:

  • Master’s Degree in Physics, Optics, or a related field (ETH or equivalent, University of Applied Sciences).
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in optical product development and system-level architecture, preferably in consumer environments; knowledge of binoculars and laser range finders is a plus.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across project phases.
  • Strong team spirit along with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in development methodologies.
  • Fluency in German and English.
