Strategic Account Manager Orthopaedics - Johnson & Johnson

Location: Western Part of Switzerland

We are seeking a Senior Strategic Account Manager to join our sales team, drive market expansion, and deliver innovative surgical solutions to our customers. This role is crucial to Johnson & Johnson’s go-to-market strategy, emphasizing long-term partnerships and measurable value for patients. Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management is key to the future business strategy of Johnson & Johnson companies. It defines how we approach the market as an Orthopaedics organization and is vital to our growth plans. This approach enables us to demonstrate the long-term value of partnership with Johnson & Johnson, especially regarding our positive impact on patient care.

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will report to the Lead of Strategic Account Management for Orthopaedics and be responsible for:

  • Developing mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with clinical and non-clinical partners at designated key accounts.
  • Creating and leading account strategies to drive profitable sales growth and increase market share within Hospitals, Hospital Groups, and Group Purchasing Organizations.
  • Coordinating with clinical teams to support the proposal development process, presenting opportunities and risks along with their implications to management.
  • Leading negotiations for commercial agreements and coordinating their execution across care centers in collaboration with Business Units and Shared Functions (Pricing, Services & Solutions, HEMA, etc.).
  • Representing Johnson & Johnson Orthopaedics in commercial partnerships within strategic accounts.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field is an advantage.
  • Several years of clinical experience in a Sales Manager or Key Account Manager role, with a proven track record in managing non-clinical partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare market and local regulatory/policy environment; capable of identifying both short and long-term business factors.
  • Experience in contract negotiations and deal structuring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in French; strong English proficiency is required, with additional language skills preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills, high self-confidence, courage, and conviction.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with solid business acumen.
  • Project management capabilities to lead complex initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team spirit and collaborative mindset.

Johnson & Johnson is planning to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone company, operating as DePuy Synthes. This process is expected to be completed within 4 to 9 months, subject to legal requirements and regulatory approvals.

If you accept this position, it is anticipated that you would become an employee of DePuy Synthes upon the conclusion of the transaction, and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes' processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.
