Job Opportunity: Commercial Strategy & Operations Director - Central & Eastern Europe (CEE)

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Commercial Strategy & Operations Director for the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region. This pivotal role involves taking full regional ownership of the commercial strategy and operational planning agenda across all Orthopaedics Business Units. We are looking for a strategic integrator and transformational leader ready to shape scalable, data-driven growth across a complex, multi-country region.

Objectives of the Position

  • Own and lead the end-to-end commercial strategy and operational execution for Orthopaedics across the CEE region, aligned with EMEA and global priorities.
  • Act as the primary business integrator across Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to deliver aligned, decision-grade plans through a robust Integrated Business Planning (IBP / S&OP) framework.
  • Translate EMEA and global strategy into CEE-specific priorities, investment choices, and multi-year execution roadmaps based on market realities and customer needs.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization and lifecycle management, including NPI sequencing, focused portfolio execution, and end-of-life recommendations across CEE.
  • Drive pricing, positioning, and value strategy execution in line with EMEA governance, ensuring clear value narratives and disciplined commercial decision-making.
  • Own the strategic digital transformation agenda for commercial operations in CEE—evolving commercial models, pipeline governance, and digital capabilities to enable scalable growth and execution excellence.
  • Ensure strong alignment between commercial strategy, professional education, and commercial education, supporting launches, focus portfolios, and digital initiatives.
  • Provide regional ownership for market-facing activities (congresses, promotions, customer engagement events), ensuring compliance, strategic focus, and measurable commercial impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing matrixed leadership team, embedding a performance culture aligned with the Johnson & Johnson Credo and leadership imperatives.
  • Serve as the key CEE interface to EMEA strategy, planning, and transformation forums, ensuring strong two-way alignment and pragmatic execution.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

Experience

  • Significant progressive leadership experience across commercial strategy, marketing, sales operations, or business planning.
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional planning and governance (IBP / S&OP or equivalent frameworks).
  • Strong experience influencing in matrix organizations across multiple countries and markets.
  • MedTech and/or Orthopaedics experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing senior stakeholders and direct reports.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy into measurable execution outcomes.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with disciplined planning and governance orientation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at the senior leadership level.
  • Change leadership capability with a strong digital and transformation focus.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Travel required: Yes, 30–40%, domestic and international within CEE and EMEA.

Johnson & Johnson has announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
