The Spatial AI Lab is part of Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group, dedicated to developing next-generation human-computer interaction technologies through advancements in AI, hardware, and device design. Our team of scientists and engineers specializes in areas such as computer vision, multimodal AI, spatial and embodied AI, robotics, and cloud services.
We are seeking a skilled software engineer to create intelligent systems and experiences for emerging agents. In this role, you will work collaboratively with scientists, engineers, students, and external research partners across applied research, rapid prototyping, and product development. Your work may encompass AI models, robotics, hardware and software integration, developer tools, data evaluation systems, and scalable product capabilities.
Given the dynamic nature of our technical focus, you should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, eager to learn new technologies, and ready to apply strong software engineering skills to both research and product challenges. Opportunities to collaborate with academic partners such as ETH Zurich, contribute to research publications, conduct demonstrations, and mentor students may also be available.

As a Software Engineer IC3, the typical base pay range for this role across Switzerland is CHF 119,200.00 - CHF 195,500.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
