Gramazio Kohler Research, the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication at the Institute of Technology in Architecture, operates at the forefront of architectural design and production enabled through digital manufacturing techniques. Our infrastructure includes the Robotic Fabrication Laboratory (RFL), a unique digital construction environment that facilitates world-class research in the field of robotic fabrication in architecture and construction.
Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled software engineer to develop Python libraries for research in architecture and timber construction, based on the open-source COMPAS framework developed by ETH Zurich.
- You will focus on software development and integration across various CAD packages (Autodesk Revit, Archicad, and cadwork3d) while working in a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, architects, and computer scientists.
- Your projects will involve multi-disciplinary collaborations with timber construction companies, encompassing a wide array of engaging tasks.
Profile
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Several years of experience as a software engineer.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, especially Python; C++ is a significant plus.
- Experience in AEC software development, specifically with Archicad and Revit.
- Experience with plugin systems is a considerable advantage.
- Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines is an asset.
- Fluency in English.
- Interest in open-source development.
- A passion for working in an international, diverse, and interdisciplinary team.
