About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced banking domain expert for the role of Senior Transact Business Consultant / Principal Consultant in Basel, Switzerland. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Transact core banking platforms and will take the lead on large-scale transformation and implementation programs.

This position necessitates a blend of deep functional expertise, strategic acumen, and delivery leadership. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, product teams, and delivery units to drive comprehensive functional design and execution within transaction banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Consulting & Advisory

  • Serve as the functional lead for Transact during large-scale and multi-country implementations.
  • Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to define core banking strategies, operating models, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Provide insights on target state architecture, encompassing transaction lifecycle, fee frameworks, and regulatory alignment.
  • Support product roadmap discussions, feasibility analyses, and solution direction.

Functional Leadership & Solution Design

  • Oversee functional design for key modules including payments, transaction processing, fees, limits, approvals, and exception handling.
  • Develop and review BRDs and functional design documents.
  • Ensure efficient use of standard Transact functionalities while limiting customization.
  • Define current and future state processes aligned with scalability and compliance requirements.
  • Align business needs with product capabilities and technical execution.

Delivery Oversight & Governance

  • Provide functional leadership within Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
  • Assist development and QA teams with requirement clarifications and validation.
  • Oversee UAT planning, execution, and defect management.
  • Support go-live, cutover, and post-production activities.
  • Conduct impact analyses for regulatory changes, scope updates, and product upgrades.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Act as the primary functional point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, solution walkthroughs, and demonstrations.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and expectations across various teams.
  • Mentor business analysts and junior consultants.

Thought Leadership & Capability Building

  • Develop reusable frameworks, reference models, and best practices for Transact implementations.
  • Support RFPs, proposals, and solution estimations.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and capability development.
  • Promote best practices in transaction banking and core banking transformations.

Required Qualifications

  • 19+ years of experience in banking and financial services.
  • Extensive experience with core banking platforms, preferably Transact.
  • In-depth understanding of payments, transaction processing, fees, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in large-scale transformation initiatives and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong knowledge of transaction lifecycle, validations, reversals, and exception handling.
