Summary

Translational Medicine Discovery & Profiling (TMDP) is a dynamic group of physicians and clinical researchers dedicated to bridging innovative science from discovery to patient care. Our Translational Medicine Experts (TMEs) play a crucial role in overseeing phase 1 first-in-human (FiH), phase 2 proof-of-concept (PoC), and dose range finding (DRF) studies in support of Phase 3 development. As key members of global cross-functional project teams, TMEs collaborate with specialists in biology and chemistry to identify targets in diseases with significant unmet medical needs, design clinical development plans, draft clinical trial protocols, and lead early clinical trials.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global clinical trial teams through phase 1 and 2 development.
  • Draft the early clinical development plan.
  • Act as the medical lead for early clinical studies.
  • Represent the team in relevant decision boards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external key opinion leaders.
  • Oversee the publication and presentation of clinical study results internally and externally.
  • Collaborate closely with biomarker experts in implementation.
  • Work with research scientists to identify, develop, and implement strategies for preclinical support related to program objectives.
  • Actively participate in interactions with health authorities.

Essential Requirements

  • Medical doctor with board certification in gastroenterology or a relevant medical specialty.
  • Several years of clinical experience treating IBD (UC and CD) patients.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Proven leadership skills in multidisciplinary teams within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Research experience (e.g., Ph.D.) is a plus but not a strict requirement.
  • Experience in drug development as a trial investigator or within the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Publications in the field of IBD are beneficial but not a strict requirement.

Compensation is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, including relevant skills, competencies, and experience, and will be reviewed periodically.
