Role Purpose
The Senior Technical Consultant Manager is responsible for the operational excellence of the clinical, logistical, and digital support team for Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) in Switzerland. The primary objective is to maximize the efficiency of field operations, ensuring that technical and administrative tasks are executed at the highest Medtronic and industry standards, while continuously optimizing processes to enable commercial growth for the company.
Key Responsibilities
This role will cover the region of Switzerland and is a remote position, meaning your home location will serve as the primary work location. However, there may be requirements to attend a Medtronic location for meetings occasionally.
- Lead the Swiss Cardiac Rhythm Management clinical, logistical, and digital support team, including direct reports such as the Inventory Lead Switzerland and PCS Lead Switzerland, reporting to the Country Cardiac Rhythm Management Lead.
- Ensure operational excellence of clinical, logistical, and digital support activities, maximizing field efficiency and relieving the sales force of technical and administrative tasks to foster commercial growth.
- Oversee and coordinate all service-relevant tasks, acting as the operational bridge between service/Technical Consultant and commercial functions, ensuring alignment with the country's Cardiac Rhythm Management strategy.
- Manage resource allocation, planning, and optimization across territories, including scheduling of Technical Consultants and service resources while balancing field and remote support.
- Oversee inventory actions across territories in collaboration with the Inventory Lead, driving stock optimization, minimizing scrap and urgent orders, and ensuring availability for key procedures.
- Monitor performance and drive service optimization in collaboration with Sales Managers, Customer Service, and other stakeholders, including account segmentation and tailored support models.
- Coordinate customer and new hire training and education, including Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programs, ensuring adequate support and coverage during product launch phases.
- Oversee post-event reporting and troubleshooting activities, ensuring high-quality field action service execution in collaboration with the Field Action Lead (Marketing).
- Build team capabilities in product, therapy, and operational skills, while promoting the adoption of digital and remote solutions, including monitoring patient migration to remote platforms (e.g., CareLink).
- Provide oversight for clinical study execution from a service/Technical Consultant perspective, including resource planning and allocation for study-related activities.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- A degree in biomedical engineering, life sciences, nursing, or a related field, along with substantial experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management or comparable clinical/technical support.
- Proven experience leading teams or senior individual contributors in a clinical, service, or operations environment.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and resource-management skills, with a clear focus on processes and key performance indicators.
- Experience collaborating closely with sales and commercial teams, ideally in a medtech or healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and at least one key Swiss language relevant to the role (e.g., German and/or French).
