Your Role

As a Project Engineer in Power Systems at ABB, a leader in technology, electrification, automation, and digitalization, you will be part of a dedicated international project team. You will play a vital role in delivering innovative technical solutions for our clients.

The work model for this role is: #LI-Hybrid

This position contributes to the Process Industries division in Switzerland and will involve:

• Developing Power Distribution designs, from conceptual to detailed stages, for various equipment such as MV switchgears, Low Voltage MCCs, Transformers, and more. You will significantly contribute to design reviews, clarifying technical aspects of projects.
• Preparing and reviewing a range of technical documents, including single line diagrams, load lists, specifications, wiring diagrams, general arrangements, layouts, functional descriptions, Power System Protection Philosophy, and IEC61850 engineering.
• Collaborating with project team members from various disciplines (including control systems, infrastructure, drives, etc.) to ensure the seamless integration of power distribution systems.
• Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and equipment suppliers, throughout the procurement to delivery phases to ensure equipment aligns with project requirements.

Qualifications

• A master’s or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power distribution or a similar field.
• 10+ years of experience in power systems, working as a senior project engineer or project lead engineer.
• Solid knowledge of energy distribution concepts, electrical network studies, and the sizing and specification of primary and secondary equipment, with experience in MV Switchgears and LV MCC projects, including Digital Protection relays and IEC61850 engineering.
• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and a willingness to learn about new technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a collaborative, solution-focused approach, and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
• A willingness to travel abroad approximately 25% of the time.
