How You Can Make an Impact

As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will support our clients in making informed architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions. Your contributions will significantly impact the following areas:

• Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Help clients modernize complex system landscapes that span multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH). Collaborate with senior stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, establish pragmatic architecture standards, and assist in planning the modernization journey.
• Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients build scalable, high-performance cloud data platforms that meet business needs. Your efforts will involve data modeling, integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and leveraging AI for smart platform operation. You'll make key design decisions and lead onshore and near-/offshore engineering teams in developing solutions.
• Architect Integrated Solutions: Assist clients in designing and building necessary integrations to support their business processes and deliver data products. This includes integrating cloud data platforms with AI/Gen AI platforms or linking MDM or CRM systems with cloud data platforms.
• Strengthen Our Market Positioning: Lead our architectural footprint in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
• Develop Internal Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and define strategic focus for expertise development both locally in Switzerland and in relation to near- and offshore teams.

What We Are Looking For

Experience:

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience as a Data Architect, leading teams in designing and implementing complex cloud-based ecosystems.
• An engineering background and at least one hands-on, end-to-end data platform implementation experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Experience in evaluating and making data architecture decisions while influencing strategic direction and engaging business and IT stakeholders.
• Guided data engineers in best practices for coding styles and quality, and are familiar with tools like SonarQube and AI coding assistants.
• Diverse experience across various database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
• Nice to have: experience in packaging data platform solutions as Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform.

• Exceptional abstract reasoning skills to comprehend enterprise-level, solution-level, and operational concepts.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, effectively articulating viewpoints to resonate with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong team leadership skills with the ability to collaborate externally, estimate and plan work, and coach team members for optimal client outcomes.

Technical Expertise:

• Proficient in modeling methods with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
• Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Experience creating architecture blueprints and solution design documents.
• Profound knowledge in data integration and ETL processes.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; fluency in French is highly preferred.
