How You Can Make an Impact

As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will assist senior stakeholders at our client organizations in making informed architectural choices and leading the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions. Your significant impact will be realized in the following areas:

• Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Modernize complex system landscapes encompassing multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH) requiring integration. Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture and enforce pragmatic architecture standards while planning the modernization journey.
• Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Construct scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that meet business needs. Engage in data modeling, data integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and the application of AI in platform operation. Make key design decisions and lead onshore, near-/offshore engineering teams in solution development.
• Architect Integrated Solutions: Design and build integrations required for business processes and data product delivery, including connections between Cloud data platforms and AI/Gen AI platforms or between MDM/CRM systems and Cloud data platforms.
• Strengthen Market Positioning and Opportunities Funnel: Promote our architecture footprint in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
• Develop Internal Know-How and Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data while guiding strategic focus for expertise development within Switzerland and in conjunction with near- and offshore teams.

What We Are Looking For

Experience:

• 4 or more years of relevant professional experience in the role of a Data Architect with a proven track record of leading teams in designing and implementing complex cloud-based ecosystems.
• An engineering background with at least one hands-on data platform end-to-end implementation experience as a data engineer (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Experience in evaluating data architecture decisions, influencing strategic direction, and persuading business and IT stakeholders.
• Guidance experience for data engineers in coding best practices, with familiarity in quality tools such as SonarQube and AI coding assistants integrated into IDEs.
• Experience across various database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based models.
• Nice to have: Experience in packaging data platform solutions into Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Strong leadership skills, including estimating and planning work while coaching team members for optimal client outcomes.

Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in modeling methods, with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven structures) using Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Experience in data integration and ETL, designing integration architectures from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, databases, APIs).
• Nice to have: Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT.
• Understanding of metadata and event-driven architecture, including best practices for capturing metadata and developing event-driven logic for monitoring.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, Spark, and familiar with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as big data file formats (Parquet, Iceberg).

Language Proficiency:

Fluent in English; fluency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
