How You Can Make an Impact
As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will help senior clients make the right architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions.
You will have a significant impact in the following areas:
- Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Assist clients in modernizing complex system landscapes spanning multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH) that require integration. Work with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, establish pragmatic and enforceable architecture standards, and plan the modernization journey.
- Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients build scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that align with business needs. Your work will encompass data modeling, data integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and the use of AI in smart operation of these platforms. Make key design decisions and lead engineering teams in developing the solution.
- Architect Integrated Solutions: Assist clients in designing and building integrations required to run their business processes and deliver data products, including integration between Cloud data platforms and AI/Gen AI platforms or between MDM/CRM systems and Cloud data platforms.
- Strengthen Market Positioning: Lead our architectural footprint in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
- Develop Internal Know-how: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and set strategic focus for expertise building within Switzerland and in relation to near- and offshore teams.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- 4 or more years of relevant professional experience in the role of a Data Architect, having led teams that designed and implemented complex cloud-based ecosystems.
- An engineering background with at least one hands-on data platform end-to-end implementation experience as a data engineer (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience in evaluating and making data architecture decisions, influencing strategic direction, and convincing business and IT stakeholders.
- Experience guiding data engineers on best practices in coding styles and quality; familiar with coding quality tools such as SonarQube and AI coding assistants integrated into IDEs.
- Experience with a range of database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
- Nice to have: Experience in packaging data platform solutions into Infrastructure as Code using solutions such as Terraform.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate viewpoints and resonate with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong team leadership skills, capable of collaborating with external partners and coaching team members for optimal client outcomes.
Technical Expertise
- Strong modeling skills with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent:
- Conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Dimensional modeling
- Data Vault
- Design of normalized and denormalized schemas for analytical and operational workloads
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms:
- AWS
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Azure
- Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
- Ability to balance performance, cost, and maintainability when designing end-to-end architectures.
- Experience in data integration & ETL, designing integration layers from various sources (ERP, CRM, operational databases, APIs, files).
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT is a plus.
- Expertise in metadata and event-driven architecture.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in English; fluency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
