How You Can Make an Impact
As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will guide senior clients in making the right architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions.
You will have a significant impact in the following areas:
- Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Assist clients in modernizing complex system landscapes across multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH) that require integration. Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, establish pragmatic architecture standards, and plan the modernization journey.
- Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients build scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms that align with their business needs. Your work will encompass data modeling, integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and the intelligent use of AI to develop and operate these platforms. You will make key design decisions and lead onshore and near-/offshore engineering teams in delivering the solution.
- Architect Integrated Solutions: Design and build integrations necessary for clients to run their business processes and deliver data products, which may include integration between Cloud data platforms and AI/Gen AI platforms or between MDM or CRM systems and Cloud data platforms.
- Strengthen Market Positioning and Opportunities Funnel: Lead our architecture footprint in the market through events, conferences, and collaborations with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
- Develop Internal Know-How and Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and set strategic focus for expertise development within Switzerland and in relation to near- and offshore teams.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
- You possess 4 or more years of relevant professional experience as a Data Architect and have led teams in designing and implementing complex cloud-based ecosystems.
- Engineering background with at least one hands-on data platform end-to-end implementation experience as a data engineer (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience in evaluating and/or making data architecture decisions, influencing strategic direction, and engaging with business and IT stakeholders.
- Proficient in guiding data engineers on best practices in coding styles and quality, familiar with coding quality tools such as SonarQube and AI coding assistants integrated into IDE.
- Experience with various database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
- Nice to have: Experience in packaging data platform solutions into Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform.

Leadership, Commercial Acumen, and Communication Skills:
- Strong client-facing presence with the ability to connect with various senior stakeholders, build relationships, and convert opportunities into projects.
- Exceptional abstract reasoning skills to understand enterprise, solution, and operational concepts and how they interlink into a cohesive solution.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate viewpoints and resonate with technical and business stakeholders.
- Robust team leadership abilities to collaborate with external partners, estimate and plan work, and coach team members to achieve optimal client outcomes.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong modeling skills with experience or certifications in DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent: conceptual, logical, and physical data models; dimensional modeling; Data Vault; and designing normalized and denormalized schemas for both analytical and operational workloads.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) using Snowflake and/or Databricks.
- Ability to design end-to-end architectures that balance performance, cost, and maintainability, estimate implementation effort, and lead delivery teams.
- Expertise in data integration and ETL processes, and the design of integration layer architecture from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, operational databases, APIs, files).
- Nice to have: Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT.
- Expertise in metadata and event-driven architecture, with the ability to articulate best practices for capturing metadata within a data pipeline and leverage it to develop event-driven logic for monitoring and alerts.
- Proficient in reviewing engineering work conducted in SQL, Python, and Spark.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, knowledge graphs, and big data file formats (Parquet, Iceberg).
Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English; fluency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
