Job Description
In this role, you will serve as a trusted finance and commercial partner for the Service Division across your assigned geographies and global topic areas. You will ensure full performance transparency and safeguard financial integrity across all reporting and decision processes.
Your primary focus will be on supporting effective business steering by analyzing and interpreting financial data, evaluating strategic and operational alternatives, and recommending the most suitable solutions. You will strengthen both actuals and forward-looking analytics by improving existing tools and defining new data analysis and visualization requirements that support financial and commercial transparency, facilitating high-quality business decisions.
You will act as the line manager for Country Finance Managers in your allocated countries, guiding them to achieve consistent standards and high-quality output. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and consistently enhancing global standards, such as guidelines for risk and contract reviews, ensuring their practical adoption.
Your Responsibilities
- Strategy: Act as a business partner to local and division senior leaders in financial and commercial matters. Actively contribute to yearly Business Review Meetings to drive local business performance and support global strategy.
- Leadership: Line Manager of Country Finance Managers from allocated geographies.
- Business Planning: Actively manage the yearly budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for allocated countries based on guidelines issued by the global process owner. Translate strategy into business plans and establish ambitious and measurable targets while evaluating financial implications of decisions, building scenarios, and initiating corrective actions.
- Performance Management and Decision Support: Monitor and analyze financial performance across multiple dimensions and periods (vs. Budget, Forecast, previous periods), delivering insights for optimal decision-making on a global/local level. Drive financial transparency, cost structure optimization, productivity improvements, and capital efficiency to maximize value creation.
- Commercial and Risk Management:
- Ensure that risk and contract reviews in allocated countries are executed in line with global policies and standards, acting as deputy owner of both global risk review and contract review processes.
- Hold commercial ownership of the tender phase with responsibilities for financial, commercial, and tax reviews, shaping contractual agreements, advising on entitlements that protect cash flow and margins.
- Analyze contract margins against standard transactional business and previous forecasts, ensuring high-quality and timely reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure on-time provision of high-quality financial data in line with Group accounting and reporting principles (US-GAAP) for allocated countries. Support the semi-annual assurance letter process respecting Group Controlling guidelines.
- Accounting and Statutory Reporting: Ensure CFMs reporting to you take necessary actions to guarantee timely preparation and filing of accurate statutory financial statements.
- Tax Compliance & Customs: Hold CFMs accountable for accurately preparing and filing tax returns in line with Group tax policies and local/international tax regulations.
- Compliance & Audits: Support allocated CFMs in coordinating external financial and tax audits and facilitate internal audits, acting as Secretary to the local Board of Directors.
- FX and Credit Lines: Manage global commercial value flows including FX exposure and credit risk management process within the Service Division.
- Others: Act as Finance project manager within the Service Division and provide financial and commercial training to promote commercial awareness among staff.
Your Background
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics, or a globally recognized professional qualification in these fields.
- Minimum 4 years of leadership experience, ideally in international and remote settings.
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in commercial management, especially in commercial project controlling.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in Business Controlling or similar functions.
- Sound knowledge of contractual and legal matters related to customer contracts.
- Experience collaborating in an international work environment.
- Service-oriented with a strong business mindset.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- A collaborative, team-oriented personality with the ability to drive change and foster cooperation.
- Experienced in tool and process implementations.
- High proficiency in MS Excel; experience with BW, SAC, Power BI, Power Query, and S4H is highly advantageous.
- Understanding of data structures with the ability to leverage AI and other tools to automate processes.
- Fluent in English.
