Join Our Team as a Finance and Commercial Partner

In this role, you will serve as a trusted finance and commercial partner for the Service Division across your assigned geographies and global topic areas. Your responsibilities will include ensuring full performance transparency and safeguarding financial integrity throughout all reporting and decision-making processes.

You will support effective business steering by analyzing and interpreting financial data, evaluating strategic and operational alternatives, and recommending the most suitable solutions. By enhancing both actuals and forward-looking analytics, you will improve existing tools and define new data analysis and visualization requirements that foster financial and commercial transparency, thereby facilitating high-quality business decisions.

Your leadership will guide Country Finance Managers in achieving consistent standards and delivering high-quality output. You will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and consistently enhancing global standards, including guidelines for risk, contract, and business reviews, ensuring their practical adoption across all teams.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Act as a business partner to local and division senior leaders on financial and commercial matters. Contribute actively to yearly Business Review Meetings to drive local business performance and support global strategy.
  • Leadership: Serve as the line manager of Country Finance Managers for allocated geographies.
  • Business Planning: Manage the yearly budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for allocated countries based on guidelines issued by the global process owner. Translate strategy into actionable business plans with ambitious, measurable targets.
  • Performance Management and Decision Support: Monitor and analyze financial performance across various dimensions and periods, delivering insights to support optimal decision-making at both global and local levels.
  • Commercial and Risk Management:
    • Oversee risk and contract reviews, ensuring alignment with global policies and standards.
    • Take commercial ownership during the tender phase, managing financial, commercial, and tax reviews while protecting cash flow and margins.
    • Analyze contract margins against standard transactional business and ensure timely high-quality reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely provision of high-quality financial data in line with Group accounting and reporting principles (US-GAAP).
  • Accounting and Statutory Reporting: Ensure team members prepare and file accurate statutory financial statements punctually.
  • Tax Compliance & Customs: Hold team members accountable for the accurate preparation and filing of tax returns in accordance with Group tax policies and local regulations.
  • Compliance & Audits: Support the coordination of external financial and tax audits and facilitate internal audits while acting as Secretary to the local Board of Directors.
  • FX and Credit Lines: Manage global commercial value flows, including FX exposure, and handle the credit risk management process within the Service Division.
  • Other Responsibilities: Act as the finance project manager within the Service Division and provide financial training to promote commercial awareness.

Your Background

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics, or a globally recognized professional qualification in these fields.
  • A minimum of 4 years of leadership experience, ideally in international and remote settings.
  • At least 7 years of work experience in commercial management, particularly in commercial project controlling.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Business Controlling or similar functions.
  • Sound knowledge of contractual and legal matters related to customer contracts.
  • Experience collaborating in an international work environment.
  • Service- and delivery-oriented with a strong business mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented personality with the ability to drive change.
  • Experience in tool and process implementations.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with BW, SAC, Power BI, Power Query, and S4H is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of data structures and the ability to leverage AI and other tools for process automation.
  • Fluency in English.
