The ETH Zurich core facility NEXUS Personalized Health fosters discovery and translational research aimed at enhancing personalized health. Our team, which spans software engineering, biomedical data management, lab automation, and screening services, is committed to applying bioinformatics and statistics for the advancement of biomedical research and clinical applications.
We are currently seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Analyst for the Clinical Bioinformatics Group of NEXUS Personalized Health in Basel, to begin immediately or by mutual agreement.
The primary focus of this position is the project-specific analysis of a diverse array of high-throughput multi-omics datasets, including whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing, single-cell, and spatial data. As a Senior Bioinformatics Analyst, you will play a crucial role in designing, executing, and documenting analytical workflows while maintaining scientific rigor and adhering to best practices in your work.
You will lead your assigned analyses while collaborating closely with the group lead and other experts within the NEXUS team. This role combines independent analytical tasks with active participation in joint project planning, interpretation, and dissemination of results.
Your responsibilities will also include the development and maintenance of reproducible analysis pipelines and software tools, supporting the team's shared infrastructure. Additionally, you will ensure that data management aligns with the FAIR principles and assist our partners in implementing best practices for Research Data Management (RDM).
Our projects span biomedical research and clinical diagnostics and cover a broad spectrum of applications—from fundamental NGS data processing to clinical reporting and public health surveillance. NEXUS collaborates closely with academic institutions and hospitals, providing a dynamic environment where scientific excellence and collaboration yield impactful outcomes.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented colleague who thrives in a collaborative setting and has a strong interest in clinical science and translational research.
