Job Title: Data Center Security Manager

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to oversee security operations at our data centers in the Zurich area. This vital role reports directly to the Cluster Security Manager and is responsible for ensuring the physical security of multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily physical security operations.
  • Maintain site security posture.
  • Oversee security guard force vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS security standards.

As a crucial part of the AWS team, you will help maintain the foundation of cloud services, ensuring continuous availability of computing resources for customers worldwide. Additional Responsibilities

  • Respond to security incidents based on guidance from the Cluster or Regional Security Manager.
  • Support the on-site contractor security team as the primary liaison during shifts.
  • Timely report unusual events to the Cluster Manager.
  • Guide and direct contract security officers to enhance departmental efficacy.
  • Oversee access control systems and manage badge deliveries.
  • Investigate security events through alarm and CCTV monitoring systems.
  • Coordinate with the Security Operation Center during incidents.
  • Develop and refine procedures and processes using data-driven insights.
  • Acquire specific knowledge of operational processes within the Data Center to identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct security inspections, audits, and investigations as required.
  • Travel to other geographic locations as necessary.

Basic Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in a similar role within public or private security sectors.
  • Proficient in using data and metrics to improve processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible availability for on-call support during out-of-business hours.
  • Willingness to travel to Data Centers within the Cluster and internationally.
  • Valid driving license eligible for use in Switzerland.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Management experience with vendors.
  • Proficiency in investigative techniques for detailed event analysis.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to company tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Metrics-oriented with the capability to operate calmly under pressure.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive information responsibly.
