Proclinical is seeking a Scientist specializing in single-cell and spatial omics technologies to become a vital part of a dynamic team in Basel.

This role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge omics platforms to drive innovation in preclinical and translational research. You will operate at the crossroads of experimental biology, data science, and therapeutic discovery, and contribute to the development of advanced experimental models and large-scale datasets for biological interpretation and target identification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement innovative protocols centered on single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial multimodal applications, and multi-omics approaches.
  • Perform experiments independently, analyze data, and generate high-quality reports.
  • Ensure data generation adheres to FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
  • Collaborate with wet lab and bioinformatics teams to interpret complex sequencing datasets and provide actionable insights.
  • Present protocols and results to internal stakeholders.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced molecular technologies, particularly Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, and NGS library preparation.
  • Experience working with challenging clinical sample types (e.g., FFPE tissue, primary tumor cells, low-input samples).
  • Strong enthusiasm for developing and refining experimental methods.
  • Ability to independently conduct experiments, evaluate data, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with single-cell and spatial transcriptomics platforms is an advantage.
  • A proactive approach to building professional networks and thriving in dynamic environments.
