Job Purpose
The Stock Take Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the School Shop Manager during the bi-annual inventory period. This temporary position focuses on stock counting, organization, data accuracy, and preparing the shop for the new academic year. The role requires precision, reliability, discretion, and the ability to work efficiently within a structured process.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Physical Stock Count
- Accurately count all merchandise, including uniforms, branded items, unbranded items, and accessories
- Follow stock-take procedures as instructed
- Record quantities clearly and accurately
- Double-check discrepancies when required
Inventory Control & Organisation
- Reorganize shelves and storage areas during counting
- Ensure products are correctly labelled and sized
- Identify damaged, missing, or obsolete items
Data Entry & Accuracy
- Input stock data into the inventory system
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail
- Report any inconsistencies immediately to the School Shop Manager
Shop Preparation
- Assist in preparing the shop for the back-to-school opening
- Organize uniforms by size and house
- Support restocking and merchandising as needed
Working Conditions
- Temporary assignment
- Physical work involving lifting boxes and standing for extended periods
- Collaboration with the School Shop Manager and assistants
- A busy and fast-paced environment
Other Tasks and Responsibilities
Undertake any other tasks reasonably required by the School Shop Manager to assist in the smooth running of the School Shop. It is essential to understand and implement all school policies and procedures, particularly those related to safeguarding children and young people. Candidates should also comprehend the School’s Guiding Principles and uphold the ethos of the School at all times.
